Hospital Dona Helena reduces imaging room time by up to 70% with Pixeon Aurora PACS
With Pixeon’s support, the hospital digitized its imaging exams and optimized its diagnostic center, the result of a partnership of over 10 years.
Hospital Dona Helena, located in Joinville/SC, has been operating since 1916 with a focus on patient well-being and quality of life. It was a pioneer in hospital IT by inaugurating its Imaging Diagnostic Center (CDDI) in 1992.
In 2008, the hospital began a partnership with Pixeon, becoming one of the first hospitals to implement a PACS system for imaging exams. This led to excellent results in productivity and innovation.
As a reference center in imaging diagnostics, the hospital had to manage a large volume of exams and reports quickly and securely, eliminating rework, expediting consultations, and optimizing medical team workflows. It also aimed to reduce dependence on physical infrastructure for storage and to improve exam access across the institution.
The adoption of Pixeon's PACS—Pixeon Aurora—enabled the capture, storage, and digital distribution of imaging exams and reports in a single platform.
The solution began integrating all imaging modalities, including ECGs, and became the central visualization system for physicians, nurses, and surgical teams.
The unified and customizable interface improved productivity and eliminated redundant work. The achieved results are accessible through the hospital’s digital reports and are also available online to patients.
